Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
This page covers everything legal in one place: how we handle your personal data, our refund policy, what our books are and aren't, the terms of sale, and our intellectual property. It's written in plain English because we dislike 40-page legal documents nobody reads. If something here is unclear, message us on WhatsApp before you buy.
1. Who we are
Voice of I AM is an independent publishing house based in Nigeria. We publish two collections: The Real You Library (short, direct books by Elise M.N.) and The Longform Collection (deeper works of philosophy, memoir, spiritual reflection and fiction). This privacy policy covers all pages under the voiceofiam01-cmd.github.io/VOIA-BOOKS/ domain and any of our book landing pages hosted on it.
2. What information we collect
Information you give us directly
- At checkout: your email address and full name, as entered on Paystack. These are required to process your payment and send your receipt.
- Messages: anything you send us on WhatsApp, TikTok DM, or by any other support channel.
- Feedback: reviews, testimonials, or early-reader comments you voluntarily send us (we only share these publicly with your explicit permission).
Payment information
All payments are processed by Paystack. We never see, store, or handle your card number, BVN, bank login, OTP, or PIN. Paystack's own privacy policy governs how they handle that information — see Section 5.
Information collected automatically
- Meta Pixel: when you visit our pages, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel records aggregate, anonymised events — page views, button clicks, purchases — using cookies and similar technologies. This helps us understand which pages and ads are useful. It does not identify you to us personally unless you are logged into Facebook, and even then the data is aggregated.
- Log data: GitHub Pages, which hosts this website, automatically collects standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring page, timestamps). This is normal for any website and is used only in aggregate to diagnose problems.
3. How we use your information
- To process payments and deliver the books you buy.
- To send you a payment receipt and give you access to your download.
- To reply to your support messages and resolve problems (e.g., a Drive link not opening).
- To understand, in aggregate, how people find our books and which pages are useful, so we can improve the site and write better books.
- Very occasionally, to tell you about a new book we've published — but only if you've explicitly opted in to hear from us. You can opt out at any time.
4. What we never do
These are our hard rules:
- We never sell, rent, or share your email address, phone number, or personal information with any third party for their own marketing.
- We never ask you for your bank login, BVN, OTP, card PIN, or card CVV outside of Paystack's official checkout page. Any message claiming to be us and asking for these is fake — report it immediately.
- We never store credit card numbers, bank account details, or payment instruments on our own servers.
- We never use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling beyond standard ad-platform measurement.
5. Third-party services
We use the following services to run the website and sell books. Each has its own privacy policy:
6. Cookies and tracking
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies only through the Meta Pixel to help us measure traffic and ad performance in aggregate.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking cookies won't prevent you from buying or reading our books. Where we run ads, Meta, TikTok and other platforms may use their own cookies to show our ads to people likely to be interested; you can opt out of ad tracking in your account settings on each platform.
7. How long we keep your data
- Purchase records: Paystack keeps transaction records for as long as required by Nigerian financial regulations (typically 6 years for tax and audit purposes). We can see your name, email, the book you bought, and the amount — but not your payment details.
- WhatsApp messages: kept in our chat thread as long as needed to support you, then deleted on request.
- Aggregate analytics: anonymised page-view data has no personal identifier and may be kept indefinitely to understand long-term trends.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to our processing of your personal information, and to request a copy of the data you provided. To exercise any of these rights, message us on WhatsApp (see Section 16). We will respond within 7 days.
9. Security
- All payments are handled by Paystack, which is PCI-DSS compliant and uses industry-standard encryption.
- This site is served over HTTPS only.
- We don't collect more data than we need.
- We never ask for sensitive credentials (OTP, BVN, card PIN) by message, email, or phone.
No online service is 100% secure. Please use a unique password for your Paystack and email accounts, and message us immediately if you notice anything suspicious.
10. Children
Our books and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA). If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Refund policy
Because our books are instantly-delivered digital products (PDFs), we operate a limited refund policy. Please read the description, chapter list and FAQ on the book's landing page carefully before buying.
When you get a full refund within 48 hours, no questions asked:
- You were unable to download or open the PDF, and we could not fix the issue within 24 hours of you contacting us.
- You were accidentally charged more than once for the same book (we'll refund the duplicate charge immediately).
- The product description materially misrepresented what the book contains — and we agree after reviewing your complaint.
When a refund is not available:
- You changed your mind after reading the book.
- The advice didn't produce the outcome you hoped for — our books are educational, and outcomes depend on your own actions and circumstances (see Section 12).
- More than 48 hours have passed since purchase, except where local consumer law requires a longer window — in which case that law applies.
How to request a refund
Send a WhatsApp message to +234 810 126 5454 with the email you used to pay and a short explanation. We respond within 24 hours and process refunds back to the original payment method within 3 business days.
Note for buyers in the EU/UK: Under consumer law, the 14-day digital-content cooling-off period does not apply once you have accessed or downloaded the digital content you purchased, since you agreed at checkout that delivery would begin immediately.
12. Content disclaimer
We write honestly about difficult subjects — money, relationships, health, career, spirituality and emotional life. The books are educational and reflective. They are not a substitute for professional care.
Financial / money books
Our money books (including The Paycheck-to-Paycheck Escape Plan) are general money education for beginners. They are not personal financial advice. Before making significant financial decisions — especially around debt, investments, large purchases, or bankruptcy — speak to a qualified, licensed financial adviser who knows your exact situation.
Nigerian prices, exchange rates, interest rates, and regulations change often. Any naira figures in our books are examples used to teach a method. Always use your own current, real numbers.
Wellness & health topics
Nothing in our books on wellness, aging, or health is medical advice. For physical or mental health concerns, please consult a qualified doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist, or licensed therapist.
Relationships & emotional life
Books on relationships, self-mastery, and personal growth are reflective and educational. If you are in an unsafe situation or experiencing abuse, please reach out to a trusted local support organisation or domestic violence hotline — a book cannot replace real help.
Career guidance
Career books are general guidance, not a guarantee of employment, promotion, or income. Outcomes depend on market conditions, your work, and factors outside anyone's control.
In short: We write in good faith and from real experience, but every reader's situation is different. Apply ideas with judgment. Take responsibility for your own decisions. When the stakes are high, talk to a qualified professional.
13. Terms of sale & use
- When you buy a book, you are purchasing a personal, non-commercial licence to read that PDF for your own use.
- You may print pages for personal reference and save the file to your personal devices.
- You may not resell, redistribute, share publicly, upload to file-sharing sites, or republish any part of our books without written permission. Small, attributed quotations in reviews or social posts are fine — and encouraged.
- You may not reproduce the cover art or author name to imply endorsement of a product not made by Voice of I AM.
- We reserve the right to update book files (e.g., corrected typos, updated naira figures) without notice; you'll always have access to the latest version if you keep your thank-you/Drive link.
- We reserve the right to change prices at any time; the price you paid at checkout is the price that applies to your purchase.
- If any clause in these terms is found unenforceable under local law, the rest still applies.
14. Intellectual property
All content on this website and in our books — text, design, logos, cover art, and the sound-wave/light motif — is © Voice of I AM Publishing House and/or Elise M.N., 2026. All rights reserved.
"The Real You Library," "The Longform Collection," "Voice of I AM," and our book titles are used as trademarks of Voice of I AM Publishing House.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally — for example, if we add a new service or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will always reflect the most recent version. Material changes will be noted on our home page.
The fastest way to reach us about anything in this policy — including data access, deletion, or refund requests — is WhatsApp at +234 810 126 5454. We respond within 24 hours.
You can also message @voiceofiam on TikTok, though DMs there are slower.
Outside Nigeria?
The Global Edition is here — same plan, US-dollar teaching amounts, currency conversion table inside.
If any part of this policy feels unfair, unclear, or missing — tell us. We'd rather fix it than hide behind fine print.
